Identify and Qualify New Business Opportunities

  • Create and work a detailed territory sales plans with monthly and quarterly campaigns to ensure you achieve your sales goal.
  • Stay informed about special grants and unique funding opportunities in your territory
  • Develop insight and understanding into the education marketplace including special program areas such as Title I, Special Education, PreK, English Language Learners, International Baccalaureate, Dual Language, etc.
  • Identify competitor’s objectives, strategies, strengths, weaknesses, and response patterns. Look for opportunities to exploit weaknesses and make inroads into competitively held accounts.
  • Qualify prospects by conducting preliminary research to gain a working knowledge of their current practices.
  • Enlist the support and recommendations of managers, team members, consultants and professional organizations in establishing relationships

 

Move Qualified Buyers (or Established Customers) from Proposal to Purchase Order

  • Foster productive relationships and strengthen ties with key stakeholders.
  • Conduct calls and meetings to qualify the customer. Determine needs (both expressed and unexpressed), buying motivation, and purchase criteria. Listen empathetically to fully understand the prospect’s point of view and to gauge their interest
  • Educate the prospect. Eliminate perceived discrepancies and tailor solutions for each buyer by understanding the “why behind the buy.”
  • Develop and implement practical action steps to move the sale forward
  • Schedule showroom appointments, lead sales presentations, lend strategic or tactical support during onsite
  • Prepare and present final proposals

 

Grow Established Accounts

  • Execute strategic initiatives to grow key accounts
  • Cross-sell and up-sell products and services
  • Verify that buying influences within an account have not changed
  • Seek referrals and leads from existing customers and personal relationships.

 

Finalize and Close Sales

  • Move proposals to purchase orders
  • Negotiate proposal terms and conditions as directed by management.
  • Provide strong project leadership and follow-through to ensure that the project, product and service commitments exceed customer expectations.
  • Establish implementation plan for core adoptions including working cross-departmentally to schedule a PD plan and tech set-up.

 

Sales Administration

  • Provide timely and accurate monthly sales forecasts (30, 60, 90-day outlook and end of fiscal year)
  • Maintain records in CRM of account contact and sales activity. Track, analyze, and report results.
  • Become thoroughly grounded in and knowledgeable of Custom Education Solutions internal business processes to ensure the most effective, efficient, and profitable means of moving proposals and projects forward.
  • 3-5 years proven sales in the education market or a related industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, education
  • Consistently achieves goal with a high close rate on opportunities
  • Experience in multiple account management
  • Ability to establish rapport, gain trust and build relationships
  • Highly responsive to customer needs
  • Finely honed presentation skills – ability to present ideas, positions, proposals and
    solutions in a thoughtful yet compelling manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks, set priorities, allocate time, and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to drive statewide to attend district sales meetings and conferences with overnight travel (up to 20%)
  • Demonstrated emotional maturity and self-management skills.

Educational Account Coordinator

Bolingbrook, IL
(This is not a home office position)

It’s a hybrid you don’t see often. Be part of changing students’ literacy lives and work in a company that shares the same passion. Are you as comfortable talking to teachers about curriculum as you are making coffee?  As an Account Coordinator, you will learn about various curriculum resources, support our sales team and develop and grow relationships with educators.

Customer and Account Servicing

  • Understand educational based terms and programs, such as, Title I, EL, Spec Ed, Bilingual Education, Professional Development, Intervention, Reader’s/Writer’s Workshop Model, CCSS, etc.
  • Provide professional interactions with educators and school district leaders in small group and one-on-one
  • Assist sales team with showroom appointments, school visits and sales campaigns
  • Build an in-depth knowledge of curriculum resources from multiple publishers
  • Make product recommendations and build text sets based on customer needs
  • Prepare conference materials and attend conference if needed
  • Respond promptly to customer needs and troubleshoot customer orders
  • Provide data to help guide the sales team
  • Manage curriculum implementations and renewals

 

Project Administration

  • Communicate daily with sales manager and sales team
  • Participate in weekly status meeting with sales team
  • Use CRM to maintain accurate and detailed record keeping, opportunities and project documentation
  • Create and update CRM opportunity report with direction from the sales consultant
  • Create and update proposals
  • Ship samples as requested
  • Complete “Consultant Request Form” and maintain the professional development calendar
  • Prepare materials for sales calls and conferences

 

Office Administration

  • Restock samples and display new products
  • Set-up showroom and event coordination
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports as directed
  • Perform customer service tasks such as; maintaining inbox, processing orders and resolving customer issues
  • Other duties as needed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communication, education or related area
  • Teaching experience required
  • Excellent communication skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking
  • Analytical and multitasking skills with a high level of attention to detail; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
  • Problem-solving ability in determining solutions that are both beneficial to the client as well as cost efficient for Custom Education Solutions
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Contact Management Software such as CRM or Salesforce
